Prof. John Ioannidis’ team from Stanford University recently released the 2024 World's Top 2% Scientists (the seventh edition) in various disciplines on the official website of Elsevier Publishing Group, by counting the number of papers published by scientists and their number of citations, using six kinds of indicators to model the comprehensive score and consequently select 217,098 scientists roughly covering the top 2% of scientists in each discipline. In total 10,687 scientists of the Chinese Mainland have been selected, accounting for 4.92%. A total of 16 scholars from SUES were selected for the annual list and 8 scholars were selected for the lifetime List.
Scholars of SUES selected for “2024 Annual Influence Ranking” are Wan Shuping, Yin Xuebo, Zhou Nanrun, Gong Lihua, An Wei, Zhang Min, Zhang Hengyun, Sheng Xiaozhen, Lu Qinghua, Wang Yansong, Wang Jinguo, Yang Jin, Zhang Yujin, Zhang Peilei, Liu Xintian, and Shan Hongli. Among them, the scholars of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering are: Yin Xuebo, An Wei, Zhang Min, Wang Jinguo, and Shan Hongli.
Scholars of SUES selected for “Lifetime Scientific Influence Ranking” are Wan Shuping, Yin Xuebo, An Wei, Zhou Nanrun, Sheng Xiaozhen, Lu Qinghua, Wang Yansong, and Zhang Hengyun. Among them, the scholars of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering are: Yin Xuebo and An Wei.
Since being on the lists indicates that these scholars boast a great world influence in their research fields, the lists reflect the great achievements of SUES in discipline construction and scientific research, hence playing a positive role in promoting the global impact of SUES.
