Professor and doctoral supervisor, Medical Science Center, Xi 'an Jiaotong University. He is now deputy Director of medical Department and director of Institute of Materia medica of Xi 'an Jiaotong University. Standing director of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, Chairman of Pharmaceutical Analysis Committee of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, Deputy Director of Physicochemical Analysis Committee of Chinese Pharmacopoeia Committee, director of Chinese Chromatography Society, expert of National New Drug Evaluation Expert Committee, member of Pharmaceutical Engineering Teaching Guidance Sub-Committee of Ministry of Education, etc.
His research interests are drug analysis and drug discovery. He has successively presided over more than 20 projects, such as the 11th Five-Year Plan support Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Major New Drug Development special project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Major scientific research Instrument and equipment development Special project, and the key and general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has won one second prize of national technical invention and two first prizes of Science and technology of Shanxi Province, presided over the clinical research of traditional Chinese medicine new drugs in 2 countries, applied for more than 40 national invention patents, and published more than 250 research papers in domestic and foreign academic journals. He has been the chief editor of national college planning textbooks Forensic Toxicology Analysis, Industrial Pharmaceutical Analysis and Analytical Chemistry. He is also the chief editor of Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis, deputy chief editor of Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis and the editorial board member of Drug Discoveries & Therapeutics, Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B, Pharmacy Journal and Chinese Pharmacy Journal. He was awarded the Outstanding Young Chemistry Award of Chinese Chemical Society in 1992, the second prize of Wu Jiping - Paul Janssen Pharmaceutical Award of Ministry of Health for drug analysis in 1996, the Special Government Allowance of The State Council in 1998, the Chinese Pharmaceutical Development Award in 1999, and the Title of Middle-aged and Young Expert with Outstanding Contribution by Ministry of Health in 2008.
